John 9:33 “If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.
34 They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins,
and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he
said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?
37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that
talketh with thee.
38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.
39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they
which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
40 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and
said unto him, Are we blind also?
41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but
now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth."

1. Mad Men In Charge
Verse thirty-three and four: “If this man were not of God, he could do
nothing. They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in
sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.”
The self righteous
Pharisees here have cast out this man who was blind and who can now see.
These Pharisees are the religious leaders of their day. We will all
suffer when the wrong people are in charge. When the wicked are in the
high places of authority in a nation or in a land, the average person
will suffer and groan UNDER the load. [Proverbs 29:2]
“When the righteous are
in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the
people mourn.” The wicked are not in their right mind. Their minds are
alienated from God. [Ephesians 4:18]
“Having the understanding darkened,
being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in
them, because of the blindness of their heart.”
2. Babes For Teachers
Last part of verse thirty-four: “and dost thou teach us?”
The Pharisee’s with their doctorates and Ph.D’s [THE WISE AND PRUDENT]
believe they have all the answers. [Their attitude has already been
exposed in John chapter seven.] "How can this man know letters?"
[John 7:15]
“And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man
letters, having never learned?”
How could these ignorant fishermen know
anything? How can they teach us anything that we already do not know?
Watch out you proud educated person! God takes definite pleasure in
revealing his SCRIPTURE to BABES! Chapter – verse you say? Are you
ready? Turn to: [Psalms 8:2]
“Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength
because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the
avenger.”
Give me another chapter – verse you say? Ok! Here is another
[Matthew 11:25]
“At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of
heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and
prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.”
3. Child Believers
Verse thirty-eight: “And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped
him.”
Just like a child, this man simply BELIEVED in Jesus Christ. Do
you want to know something? That is the only way we can come to God for
salvation … as like a child. Talk about a stumbling block to an adult
who thinks that he or she knows it all. An ADULT who has come to
AGE,
and who has EDUCATION, MONEY or
STATURE in this old world will not come
to Jesus Christ. [Luke 18:16-17]
“But Jesus called them unto him, and
said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for
of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall
not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter
therein.”
Everyone who has been saved in the last two thousand years
[THE CHURCH AGE] has received the kingdom of God as a little child. That
is B-I-B-L-E ! Amen!
4. Blind Mice
Verse thirty-nine: “And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this
world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might
be made blind.”
The religious leaders in this world believe they have all the
answers. They are the blind! Those who follow them are blind too.
What a sad lot! Here is what Jesus Christ said in [Matthew 15:14]:
“Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind
lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.”
The wise and prudent in this world laugh at the
foolishness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Spirit of God reveals
this thing this way. [1 Corinthians 1:21-29]
“For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God,
it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that
believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto
the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and
Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the
foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is
stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many
wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the
wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the
things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which
are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring
to nought things that are:
[And why does HE do this?]
“That no flesh should glory in his presence.”
5. Cut Off Their Tails
Verse forty: “And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these
words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?”
I think the Pharisee’s
have finally gotten the GIST of the matter here at hand. They have
finally understood that the SON of GOD
wasn’t going buy their
Pig-in-the-Poke [their god of education], but rather, HE was calling
them BLIND, because of their TRUST in their god – the god of
EDUCATION
and the god of HIGHER LEARNING. Jesus Christ cut off their tails! And
why did HE do this?: so THAT NO FLESH SHOULD GLORY IN HIS PRESENCE. Do
you have it this time?
6. Sin Stains
Verse forty-one: “Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have
no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.”
• Somebody who thinks they have it all figured out is heading for a
BIG
FALL. SIN REMAINS in this person’s life – all his life
- even after his
death in HELL for eternity. Therefore your sin remaineth. [RETAINED]
SIN
STAINS!
• Somebody else who admits that he does not have “the smarts”, or have
the all the answers, is a candidate to getting HELP from the
ONE is able
to give HELP. PRIDE is opposite to
HUMILITY.
When a man or a woman comes
to Jesus Christ for salvation they come as a child [HUMILITY – TRUSTING
– BELIEVING] and their sins will be REMITTED. We see this word “remit”
in [John 20:23]. “Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto
them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.”
SIN STAINS are GONE for the sinner who places his trust in the
SON of GOD … Jesus Christ.
Amen! Amen! Amen!
Oh, sinner, will you not come TODAY to Calvary!?
"1. There is a fountain filled with blood
drawn from Emmanuel's veins;
and sinners plunged beneath that flood
lose all their guilty stains.
Lose all their guilty stains,
lose all their guilty stains;
and sinners plunged beneath that flood
lose all their guilty stains.
2. The dying thief rejoiced to see
that fountain in his day;
and there may I, though vile as he,
wash all my sins away.
Wash all my sins away,
wash all my sins away;
and there may I, though vile as he,
wash all my sins away.
3. Dear dying Lamb, thy precious blood
shall never lose its power
till all the ransomed church of God
be saved, to sin no more.
Be saved, to sin no more,
be saved, to sin no more;
till all the ransomed church of God
be saved, to sin no more.
4. E'er since, by faith, I saw the stream
thy flowing wounds supply,
redeeming love has been my theme,
and shall be till I die.
And shall be till I die,
and shall be till I die;
redeeming love has been my theme,
and shall be till I die.
5. Then in a nobler, sweeter song,
I'll sing thy power to save,
when this poor lisping, stammering tongue
lies silent in the grave.
Lies silent in the grave,
lies silent in the grave;
when this poor lisping, stammering tongue
lies silent in the grave."
John 9:1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man
which was blind from his birth.
John 9:2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin,
this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
John 9:3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his
parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day:
the night cometh, when no man can work.
John 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
John 9:6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made
clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with
the clay,
John 9:7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which
is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed,
and came seeing.
John 9:8 The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen
him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
John 9:9 Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he
said, I am he.
John 9:10 Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?
John 9:11 He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made
clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of
Siloam, and wash: and
I went and washed, and I received sight.
John 9:12 Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.
John 9:13 They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was
blind.
John 9:14 And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and
opened his eyes.
John 9:15 Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had
received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes,
and I washed, and do see.
John 9:16 Therefore said some of the
Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the
sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a
sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
John 9:17 They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of
him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.
John 9:18 But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had
been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of
him that had received his sight.
John 9:19 And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say
was born blind? how then doth he now see?
John 9:20 His parents answered them and said, We know that this is
our son, and that he was born blind:
John 9:21 But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath
opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak
for himself.
John 9:22 These words spake his parents, because they feared the
Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess
that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
John 9:23 Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.
John 9:24 Then again called they the man that was blind, and said
unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.
John 9:25 He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know
not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
John 9:26 Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how
opened he thine eyes?
John 9:27 He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not
hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his
disciples?
John 9:28 Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple;
but we are Moses' disciples.
John 9:29 We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we
know not from whence he is.
John 9:30 The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a
marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he
hath opened mine eyes.
John 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man
be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
John 9:32 Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened
the eyes of one that was born blind.
John 9:33 If this man were not of God,
he could do nothing.
John 9:34 They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born
in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
John 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had
found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
John 9:36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might
believe on him?
John 9:37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it
is he that talketh with thee.
John 9:38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.
John 9:39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world,
that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be
made blind.
John 9:40 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these
words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?
John 9:41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no
sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
