John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God,
believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would
have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and
receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

1. The Troubles Of Life
Verse one: “Let not your heart be troubled: …”
There is something about trouble that makes it inescapable. Man is
born into it as it the BOOK says in Job chapter five, verse seven:
“Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.” [Job 5:7]
Not only is he born into trouble but his whole life is FULL of
trouble. [Job 14:1] “Man that is born of a woman is of few days and
full of trouble.”
Trouble weakens the hand of all who have trouble. In Second Kings
chapter nineteen verse three, Hezekiah said: “This day is a day of
trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy; for the children are come to
the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.” [2 Kings 19:3]
It is because sin is in this world that we have all this trouble.
[Sickness, death, broken homes, wars, divorces, murders, financial
setbacks, debt, unrequited love, betrayals and lost jobs are some of
troubles we have in life.] If Adam had not sinned there would be no
trouble in our life.
But now that there is trouble in this old world [because of our
sin], the LORD has over and again been known to use [trouble]. He
uses trouble by sending it into our lives in order to get to our
attention and to turn us to turn back to HIM. Trouble can do this
kind of thing. Amen! [Job 27:9] “Will God hear his cry when trouble
cometh upon him?” [Psalm 108:12] “Give us help from trouble: for
vain is the help of man.” [Psalm 9:9] “The Lord also will be a
refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.” [Psalm
10:1] “Why standest thou afar off, O Lord? why hidest thou thyself
in times of trouble?” [Psalm 27:5] “For in
the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret
of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.”
[Psalm 46:1] “God is our refuge and strength, a
very present help in trouble.”
God has done this with Israel over and over again. Take a look in
Second Chronicles chapter twenty-nine for just a moment. Let me read
to you verse eight. “Wherefore the wrath of the Lord was upon Judah
and Jerusalem, and he hath delivered them to trouble, to
astonishment, and to hissing, as ye see with your eyes.” [2
Chronicles 29:8] The LORD has used trouble as
HIS big stick to
chasten His people [Israel]. [Psalm 78:33] “Therefore their days did
he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble.” Soon ... God will
bring the Tribulation to this earth such as never has been seen.
[Jeremiah 30:7] “Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like
it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved
out of it.”HE will use the TROUBLE therein to deal with
HIS chosen
nation and to prepare them for the Kingdom of Heaven [the one
thousand reign of Jesus Christ on this earth].
In this age, [The Age of GRACE] when TROUBLES come into the
Christian’s life [and they will come, my friend] THE GOD of all
comfort will comfort us in all our troubles. [2 Corinthians 1:4]
“Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to
comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we
ourselves are comforted of God.” My friend, go to HIM in troubles.
HE will comfort you!
2. Believe In The Son Of God
Verse one: “Ye believe in God, believe also in me.”
Now, we are heading to the solution to our troubles. Troubles have
this purpose … to drive us to the watering trough, but now we need
to drink from the watering trough.
It is not is not enough to believe in God. Why? It is because every
one with any sense at all … believes in God. Even the devils believe
in God yet they are not saved. [James 2:19] “Thou believest that
there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and
tremble.”
No one on the face of this earth has to put any real effort into
believing in God. Why it is rooted in their very conscience. We came
to this consciousness with no sweat. Ye believe in God! [Romans
1:20] “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the
world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are
made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without
excuse.” We are without excuse. Amen!
Now, friend, it is one thing to believe in God. It is quite another
thing to believe in THE SON of GOD: “believe also in me.” This is
where the vast majority of people will break their necks. This is
where we ALL trip up. Believe in God – YES, that is
OK, but believe
on the LORD JESUS CHRIST – “Oh NO!”“We will not do that!”
Everybody
[even the atheist in a honest moment] has no problem in believing in
God, but believing on Jesus Christ that creates a huge RUCKUS [or
problem]. Here is the issue … straight to THE QUICK! Are you ready?
It’s because God has stipulated that the ONLY WAY to
HEAVEN is
through HIS SON Jesus Christ. [Acts 4:12] “Neither is there
salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven
given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
Talk about raising the
hair on people’s backs and getting them angry. It is one thing to
suggest to someone about doing something and quite another thing to
make it a mandatory order to do the very thing or else. The human
nature is to rebel at the authority. Here, the AUTHORITY is
THE BOOK
[The King James Bible]. Go ahead and order a person to do something
and they will have the tendency to do the very opposite thing. We
can see this very nature in our children. Tell a child to do
something, and then, just watch them do the very opposite thing. No
surprise here. The BOOK tells us all about this. We got this nature
from our father – Adam. M-A-N spells R-E-B-E-L.
3. The Father’s House
Verse two: “In my Father's house …”
This is the SON talking of HIS Father’s house. What thought come
into mind? For me, there is something very heart warming about the
thought of the Father’s house. What is more, it is the thought of my
going to the Father’s house. I know it will be a place of complete
safety and of total provision. Furthermore, it will be a place of
great nourishment and of sweet rest to one’s soul. Maybe for me it
is because I lived most of life without my father. Divorce does that
kind of thing. It destroys the children’s relationship with his
father. You have heard of Saturday fathers, haven’t you? [Most often
it’s the father who is missing because of what “the laws” of this
land have done to the family.] This is why the thought of my
father’s house is so warm to me. Now let us learn more about the
Father’s house.
4. A Mansion For You
Verse two again: “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were
not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”
What are these mansions? Are not mansions huge? Oh yes they are
huge. Amen!
Turn to [Revelation chapter twenty-one, verse two to see the
location of these mansions HE has prepared for you and I.
“And I
John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of
heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” Now turn to
chapter twenty-one, verse sixteen: “And the city lieth foursquare,
and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city
with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth
and the height of it are equal.” [Revelation 21:16]
Let us think on
this thing a little bit. [There is eight [8] furlongs to a mile.]
That means this city that God has made for us is 1,500 miles on a
side. Do you not think a that this city [New Jersusalem] which is a
cube [with the sides of the cube being 1,500 miles] can not contain
“many mansions” for the Bride of Christ throughout all eternity? [1
Corinthians 2:9] “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear
heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which
God hath prepared for them that love him.”
5. Your Special Appointment
Verse three: “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come
again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be
also.”
There is coming a day and a particular time when the LORD will come
for you and come for me. That will be the day when He comes for His
purchased possession. The Spirit of God tells us this in Ephesians
chapter one, verse fourteen: “Which is the earnest of our
inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto
the praise of his glory.” [Ephesians 1:14]
Jesus Christ will redeem our body in the day of our passing over
deaths’s river. He will complete the great transaction that He began
on Mount Calvary’s CROSS when HE shed His Own
BLOOD for you and I.
Amen!
Oh, we are waiting for that day when we go home! Listen to
what it says in Romans eight, verse twenty-three. “And not only
they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit,
even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption,
to wit, the redemption of our body.” [Romans 8:23]
“There is coming a day
When no heartache shall come
No more clouds in the sky
No more tears to dim the eye
All is peace forever more
On that happy golden shore
What a day, glorious day that will be.”
6. Forever Together
Verse three again: “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will
come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye
may be also.”
At the end of this age of Grace, we will be caught up to be with the
LORD forever. Let me read to you from First Thessalonians chapter
four: “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up
together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and
so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another
with these words.” [1 Thessalonians 4:17-18]
This will fulfill HIS great desire for us as believers. What is this
desire HE has for us? I will tell you! The desire of Jesus Christ …
The Son Of God is for us [the Christians – The Church age saints]
TO
BE WITH HIM in Heaven [ultimately in the New Jerusalem].
Let me close by reading to you from John seventeen verse
twenty-four: “Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given
me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou
hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the
world.”
“What a day that will be
When my Jesus I shall see
And I look upon His face
The One who saved my by His grace
When He takes me by the hand
And leads me through the Promised Land
What a day, glorious day that will be.”
So brethren let not your heart be troubled! Trust in The Lord!
“He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly.
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” [Revelation 22:20]
John 14:1 Let not
your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so,
I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come
again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be
also.
John 14:4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
John 14:5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou
goest; and how can we know the way?
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the
life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also:
and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
John 14:8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it
sufficeth us.
John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you,
and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath
seen the Father; and
how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the
Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself:
but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
John 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me:
or else believe me for the very works' sake.
John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me,
the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these
shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do,
that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
John 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another
Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive,
because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for
he dwelleth with
you, and shall be in you.
John 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but
ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
John 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye
in me, and I in you.
John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is
that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father,
and I will love
him, and will manifest myself to him.
John 14:22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that
thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he
will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come
unto him, and make our abode with him.
John 14:24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the
word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
John 14:25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present
with you.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the
Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and
bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto
you.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as
the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid.
John 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come
again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I
go unto the Father:
for my Father is greater than I.
John 14:29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that,
when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
John 14:30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince
of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
John 14:31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and
as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go
hence.
