The Book of MicahThe Establishment

Micah 4:1 “But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.”

1. The Last Days
2. The Mountain
3. The House of The Lord
4. The Coming Flowing

What shall come to pass … will be in stark contrast … to all that has gone on before. What shall be established is what the whole creation groans for. “For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.” [Romans 8:22]

Notice the word “established”.

ESTAB'LISHMENT, n. The act of establishing, founding, ratifying or ordaining.

1. Settlement; fixed state.
2. Confirmation; ratification of what has been settled or made.
3. Settled regulation; form; ordinance; system of laws; constitution of government. Bring in that establishment by which all men should be contained in duty.
4. Fixed or stated allowance for subsistence; income; salary.
5. That which is fixed or established; as a permanent military force, a fixed garrison, a global government, an agency, a factory, &c. The King has establishments to support, in the four quarters of the globe.
6. The monarchal form of the true religion.
7. Settlement or final rest … the seventh day … the seventh millennium … a restitution of all things.
We set up our hopes and establishment here.

1. The Last Days

Now, when are the times of “the last days”?  What will happen in “the last days”?

Now, these are two very good questions to be asking.

We need the Bible [and only the Bible] to guide us to the true answers.

First thing is first: the first mention of “the last days” is located in the first book of the Bible which is the book of beginnings. “And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.” [Genesis 49:1]

Already in the first book [in Genesis], we have learned that God wants to tell us what will befall Israel, and what will befall us in “the last days”.

Now, fast forward fifteen hundred years to the book of Second Timothy in chapter two, verse one, where the Holy Ghost is tells us that “the last days” will be in “perilous times”.

Read it: “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.” [2 Timothy 3:1]

These are PERILOUS TIMES!

Then the Apostle Peter [in Peter chapter three, verse three] said this: “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,” [2 Peter 3:3].

Brethren, these are our times!  Look around you.  You cannot fail to see, and to know, that the last days are upon us who are living now today. [See 1 Corinthians 10:11.]

When Jesus Christ came to the earth the first time [which is called the First Advent] the period of time [called the last days] began … which is according to Hebrews chapter one, verse two: “Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;” [Hebrews 1:2]

The last days have now run their course nearly two thousand years.

This timing of the last days is further buttressed by what the Scripture said through the Apostle Peter [in the book of the Acts of the Apostles] where it identified “the last days” concerning Israel … as being when their sons and daughters would be involved in having this prophecy fulfilled [the Jewish believers].

Listen to what it says [in chapter two, verse seventeen]: “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:” [Acts 2:17]

Now get ready for this.  Are you ready?

When Jesus Christ comes to the earth the second time [which is called the Second Advent] the period of time [the last days] will end. The “heir of all things” [the Son of God] will establish a millennial [one thousand years] kingdom on this earth.

Here is a side note: this is fascinating.

This “heir” is the very same Person … WHO created all things in Heaven and in the universe.

What a side note this is! Amen!

We learn further from the BOOK that the “last days” correspond with the end of the times of the Gentiles [which include the seven years of the Tribulation]. [See Luke chapter twenty-one, verse twenty-four: “until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.”]

Now look at the double barrel delivery by the Holy Spirit. The prophet Isaiah tells us [as Micah did] of this very same establishment “in the last days”.

Go ahead, and read, Isaiah chapter two, verse two: “And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.” [Isaiah 2:2]

Now, Micah again: “But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.” [Micah 4:1]

Well look at that!  Both verses point to the same fact that at the end of “the last days” [of the times of the Gentiles] that it will come to pass that in the mountains of Israel, that a temple will be “established”.

This is Scripture with Scripture! The future event is already sure and established, and it is as good as done! T

he building of the TEMPLE, which will be “the house of the Lord” will “established” “in the top of the mountains”.

I cannot wait!!!

2. The Mountain

Now, look us look at that “mountain”!

Note: it is a “holy mountain” according to Isaiah chapter sixty-six, verse twenty.

Now, go there, and read of that “holy mountain”: “And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the Lord out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the Lord, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord.” [Isaiah 66:20]

Do you see what I see?  The mountain of God will draw all men, women, and children from all four quarters of the earth in that day. What a sight! They will all come to worship … to the HOLY MOUNTAIN.

Now if that is not enough, the book of Ezekiel says the very same thing.  Read it with me: “For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord God, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the firstfruits of your oblations, with all your holy things.” [Ezekiel 20:40]

I want that MOUNTAIN!  Do you want that MOUNTAIN?

3. The House of The Lord

What more can be seen?  What is on the top of that mountain?  Ready?  It is the House of the LORD!

It is holy! “This is the law of the house; Upon the top of the mountain the whole limit thereof round about shall be most holy. Behold, this is the law of the house.” [Ezekiel 43:12]

I want to go to the House of the LORD!  Do you want to go with me?

4. The Coming Flowing

Now, brethren, very soon something is about to happen.

There is a great flowing that is coming!!!

There will be something this earth has never experienced before in all of history.

People [people everywhere] will be flowing to Jerusalem … to the city on the top of the mountains … to go the mountain of God.

Let the word of God come into your heart:

• [Jeremiah 31:12] “Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the Lord, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.”

• [Isaiah 60:4] “Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.”

• [Isaiah 60:5] “Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.”

Do you see it?

The Great Establishment … is soon to appear for all to see. Amen!
